Kevin J. Trainor is an associate dean and associate professor of Marketing in The W. A. Franke College of Business at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Trainor received his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and an MBA in International Business from Arizona State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Management Systems from Kent State University. His research and teaching interests include new product development and innovation, marketing technology, sales and sales management. Dr. Trainor’s research has been published in journals including Decision Support Systems, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, and Marketing Management Journal.
Prior to his career in academia, Dr. Trainor worked for 12 years in various software development and product management roles. Most recently he worked for DHL where he served as a Global Product Manager for DHL’s internet-based shipping application (webshipping.dhl.com). This global application is now deployed in over 80 countries and is available in over 20 languages. He has also been responsible for the development and deployment of software and technology products at companies such as Prudential Financial, Sage Software, and Ernst & Young.
